Chain shot is a shitty rapid fire on a unit with poor aim progression and low ammo guns. Not worth it against volatile mix. 10 recommended character builds for maximum alien-slaying in XCOM 2. Abilities: Launch Grenade, Shredder, Suppression, Holo Targeting, Chain Shot Heavy Ordinance, Volatile Mix, Salvo You would need to equip a rare aim PCS on grenadiers to get decent use out of chain shot. And even then volatile mix + GWC tactics for nade crit is probably better.
